News: Data Center Hosting Solutions Network, IFL, to Expand Manchester Facility
Manchester, United Kingdom - (The Hosting News) - July 14, 2008 - Provider of business class data centers, Internet Facilitators Limited (IFL), will further expand its Manchester data center network, with an additional 5,000 sq. ft. of premium colocation space.
Matthew Edgley, Sales Manager at IFL noted, ''Much of our continued success can be attributed to the growth of our existing partners and customer base. Recognition of this drives our commitment to provide a continuous supply of high quality rack space to facilitate their future growth.''
The expansion on the ground floor of Reynolds House, where IFL already occupies over 17,000 sq ft, will be IFL's second in the last twelve months and further consolidates its position as the market leader of colocation services in the North West of England. With further large scale expansion news expected in the next few months, this will ensure ever increasing demand will continue to be met by IFL with high quality supply through its continued investment in new data centres.
To bring the new expansion space into service, a second on-site energy center will be built with a new 1MVA power supply, diesel generators and n+1 UPS system. State of the art air conditioning will be deployed to ensure the lowest possible Energy Efficiency Ratio - a measure of how much additional electricity is used beyond that needed for servers. An additional 150 racks will be made available with an expected average power usage of 4.5KW per rack up to a maximum of 8KW per rack.
Mr. Edgley added, ''We are attracting record numbers of new customers as an increasing number of organisations realise the advantages of outsourcing their data centre whilst retaining their in-house technical staff and expertise. The company is in outstanding health with sales records being broken every quarter since 2006. The very strength of the sales pipeline proves demand for quality colocation space and absolutely necessitates our continued multi-million pound investment in expansion.''
IFL data centres offer connectivity solutions from a wide range of Tier 1 network providers including BT, Cogent, NTL, NWIX and THUS all of whom have multiple resilient routes into the building. The IFL data centre network is well connected to other data centres in the region through dedicated fibre networks such as MCIX and NWIX.
London based carriers also provide low cost backhaul to data centres located in the nation's capital. The increasing number of carriers and IP Transit providers continues to drive the cost of connectivity downwards and ensure IFL customers are located on the secure, resilient backbone of the region's Internet.
Internet Facilitators Limited (IFL) IFL, providers of Business Class Data Centres, offers secure colocation, solutions to businesses looking to outsource their data centres, demanding protection against the risk of downtime to business critical technical infrastructure. Operating since 1997, IFL has grown to become the largest provider of carrier neutral colocation services in Manchester.

News: Web Hosting Provider, LeaseWeb, Attains ISO 27001 Safe Hosting Certification
Amsterdam, The Netherlands - (The Hosting News) - July 11, 2008 - International business hosting services firm, LeaseWeb, has been granted ISO certification for information security, through an IT Audit.
Dr. Ronald Paans of Noordbeek IT, who conducted the certification process remarked, ''ISO 27001 is a rigorous standard that is consistent with what De Nederlandsche Bank expects from banks and insurances companies. We have done far more within this certification process than just examining and assessing the information security. We also examined and approved the management of different processes within the organization in accordance with the ISO 27001 standard.''
Dr. Paans added, ''Among other things, we reviewed LeaseWeb's general management, and more specifically the operational management of the hosting network. We also assessed the stock management and the invoicing procedures. According to the ISO standard LeaseWeb has organized these processes properly.''
Risk management within LeaseWeb was a security aspect that Noordbeek IT Audit included in its assessment.
Mr. Paans noted, ''Sufficient checks must be built in to ensure good risk management, so that you know where you stand at any time. And as an organization you need to be aware of all potential security aspects that can constitute risks, and organize your processes accordingly.''
The ISO 27001 certification offers security for LeaseWeb's larger corporate customers, and also for e-commerce sites. Con Zwinkels, Managing Director at LeaseWeb added, ''Corporate website hosting requires a structured and secure approach from a hosting provider, through fixed procedures.''
ISO 27001 is a continuous process, and LeaseWeb will be audited according to ISO standards annually. Mr. Zwinkels added, ''Continuity is extremely important in the assessment according to this ISO standard. It guarantees our customers professional hosting, and gives them the security that their hosting is and will continue to be professionally organized.''
LeaseWeb is an international supplier of hosting products and services that specializes in both Microsoft and Linux, and focuses primarily on the professional market. The company is among the top 20 hosting providers in the world and provides services such as web hosting, dedicated hosting, colocated hosting, VPS and streaming, as well as technical support. News: Eleven2 Web Hosting Provider, Integrates Improved Control Panel Application
Spring, Texas - (The Hosting News) - July 11, 2008 -
Shared, reseller, VPS and dedicated hosting provider, Eleven2, has migrated from Litespeed to Apache, considered the world's leading web server.
The platform change provides better integration between the company's servers and the popular Web hosting control panel technology, cPanel. The switch back to Apache enables Eleven2 to better manage the nearly 60,000 Websites it currently hosts. The company has already transitioned most customers to the new platform without any service disruption or changes in application performance. Litespeed was designed to be compatible with Apache.
Rodney Giles, CEO and Founder, Eleven2 noted, ''Without Apache, our clients were unable to take advantage of many advanced management features that are available with cPanel integration. It is important we offer a platform that delivers on our promise to offer the best software environment for developers, and Litespeed was a bad choice for our customers.''
The switch also empowers customers to more easily control their Ruby on Rails applications through Eleven2's exclusive control panel customizations. PHP developers will also benefit. In addition to the Ruby on Rails-related control panel customizations, Eleven2 is also able to deliver the latest PHP updates and install custom modules for customers.
Shared hosting from Eleven2 starts at $6.00/monthly for 60GB of RAID-protected storage space and 6,000GB of monthly data transfer. All hosting plans include both PHP4 and PHP5; spam filtering; AIM technical support; instant account activation; and an innovative automated backup system that stores over 100 restore points.
Eleven2 Hosting was formed back in early 2004 between two frustrated web developers who simply couldn't find good hosting options on the Internet. With currently more than 60,000 web sites and years of experience, Eleven2 has become a world-class hosting provider that is here to stay. Eleven2 built and maintains its own state-of-the-art data-center facility and has continuously re-invented itself through the development of their own in-house automated support system.
